What makes it high-class
Two things: where you sleep and how much of the day is yours. Nights are in the best hotels available in Ha Giang city and Dong Van — four star as standard, five star where the route allows — instead of a village homestay. And because the car is private, the itinerary bends around you rather than around a group of twelve.
You still eat where the guides eat and stop where the riders stop. Nobody has invented a five-star version of Ma Pi Leng, and we would not sell it if they had.
The four days
- Day 1 — Ha Giang city, Bac Sum Pass, Heaven Gate, Quan Ba and the Fairy Mountains, on to Yen Minh.
- Day 2 — Tham Ma Pass, Lung Cu Flag Tower at the northern border, the Vuong family palace and Dong Van Old Quarter.
- Day 3 — Ma Pi Leng Skywalk, Ma Pi Leng Pass, and the boat into Tu San Canyon on the Nho Que River.
- Day 4 — the quiet southern road through Du Gia and Duong Thuong, Lung Tam weaving village, back to Ha Giang city mid-afternoon.
Detail on each stop is in the four-day motorbike itinerary — the road is the same, only the beds change.
